We are looking to hire a Plant Manager to support our manufacturing site in Amherst, New York.

 

This is a high-level overview of the role we need you to fill for us:

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily Manufacturing operations of the facility from production, manufacturing planning, and maintenance to ensure policies and procedures are followed and customer expectations are met. The Plant Manager will drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes while conforming to safety, quality, and environmental compliance requirements.

 

These skills and experiences will make you a good fit for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial or Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of Supervisory experience in Operations and/or Plant Engineering/Maintenance support. Previous experience as a Plant Manager in a steel fabrication facility or similar industry is preferred.
  • Oversee the development and/or deployment of process standards, operating procedures, diagrams, training materials, and job aids as required to properly document and coordinate operations.  Previous experience in LEAN and Six Sigma is preferred.
  • Leads the development of manufacturing staff in efficiency and proficiency by setting measurable business and career targets and providing regular feedback to all reports throughout the review period.
  • Oversees and regularly interfaces with manufacturing planning to ensure production activities or required toll manufacturing is properly assessed and executed through facts and analytical tools.  Focus shall always be on-time, efficient project completion to our quality standard and established costs.
  • Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to improve operating efficiencies and product quality, within established operating guidelines.
  • Directs implementation of an effective maintenance program for equipment and plant facilities to minimize downtime and optimize overall equipment efficiency.
  • Allocates resources effectively and fully utilizes assets to produce optimal results. Responsible for the selection and placement of qualified personnel, under the direction of Human Resources.
  • Works in concert with employee-led safety committee to establish and monitor measurable objectives including workplace safety, employee training, emergency response and awareness programs as part of a continuous improvement process.
  • Must understand and follow all quality initiatives and processes for ISO 9001 and other quality standards.
  • Participate in and lead capital investment planning and the implementation for the overall asset strategy.
  • Lead with a mindset of continuous improvement and Operational Excellence.
  • Possess the legal right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
