We are looking to hire a Mix Operator 1 in our Brighton, CO

This is just a high-level overview of the role we need you to fill for us

The Mix Operator 1 is responsible for following safety guidelines in coordinating bulk mixing and raw materials with production needs. This position will also ensure quality processes are followed to supply products to packaging lines for production of finished goods as required by internal and external customers.  The schedule requires working a 12-hour shift with overtime duties as assigned.

Environmental, Health & Safety

• The individual will be expected to perform their assigned work tasks in a manufacturing plant environment.  This will include working with mechanical mixers, pneumatic valves, and chemicals.
• Must be able to wear all required PPE including air purifying respirators.
• Member of the Emergency Response Team which includes Hazwoper Training.
• Participate in PSSRs, Incident Investigations, and EHS Action Items.
• Must be able to obtain a forklift and pallet jack license through Master Builders Solutions.
• Complete all assigned safety training as required and follow all site safety guidelines and procedures.

Essential Functions

• Operate all mixers, scales, and other specific mixing equipment.
• Follow batch processes from the beginning to end and record all necessary batch information.
• Add materials at specified quantities and times, observe temperatures and or mixing/chemical reactions.
• Draw samples of mixtures at designated times for laboratory analysis in a timely manner to ensure consistent, quality batches are produced.
• Operate forklift and other material handling equipment to transport materials.
• Participate in confined space entry pot cleaning activities, which include use of body harness and extraction system.
• Work with various site teams in specific activities, maintenance support, or troubleshooting.
• Maintain good housekeeping and regularly clean work areas, machines, and equipment.
• Identify and contribute to continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness.
• Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance with the assigned work schedule.
• This position may also be assigned tasks in other production functional areas as required to help and support overall success of the facility.
• Adhere to established company values, practices, policies, and procedures always.  Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standard.

Maintenance Support

• Support implementation and follow-up on maintenance processes.
• Report equipment issues immediately for repairs or improvements.

Process Optimization

• Support implementation and follow-up on Process Optimization.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and learn to perform simple troubleshooting maintenance tasks.
• Understand and communicate in English to operate equipment and interface with PLC control screens, read and complete process orders, complete safety tests.
• Solve simple math problems to accurately record chemical additions, lot numbers, and scale readings.
• Recognize problems when they occur and work toward the resolutions of issues.
• Use equipment, resources, and time in an efficient and effective manner.
• Effectively and professionally communicate with co-workers, team members, and internal or external customers.  Present information clearly and accurately.
• Work in a cooperative manner with management, co-workers, and internal/external customers, and vendors.
• At least one year of related experience or any satisfactory combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Physical Demands of Essential Functions

• Regularly lift 0 - 65 lbs. throughout the shift.  Maximum lifting requirements are 80 - 90 lbs. and must be able to push/pull up to 100 - 150 lbs.
• Work within a confined space is required and position will work with chemicals.
• Position oneself to access valves and adjust hoses to connect to delivery points of various heights or positions, including at floor level.
• Ascend/descend stairs/ladders to perform various tasks throughout the mixing areas.
