We are looking for a passionate Sales Trainee to work directly in the field supporting the Northern California area. This position is an entry-level position that will focus on training the individuals about our brand of products and concrete solutions, indoctrinate them to the industry and customer base, strengthening their concrete knowledge, and preparing them for a Territory Manager position with their own territory sales assignment.



 Sales Trainee



The Sales Trainee is part of the Master Builders Solutions Admixture Business line and will be a member of the Northern California sales region.  They will report to the regional manager to which they are assigned and a dotted line report to the local Territory Manager. They will work closely with the sales and dispenser operations team in their area, complete required corporate training, participate in local concrete associations, and engage with marketing, R&D, and other departments in the Admixture organization.



While the specific activities for this role may be unique by area for which they are assigned, the sales trainee will be responsible for contributing to the success of the team by: building and maintaining customer relationships within their area; Supporting daily customer activities, assisting at job sites and servicing our customers; Becoming skilled at concrete technology concepts, testing procedures, admixtures, product solutions, and basic mix design; and developing business acumen and identifying the financial drivers in their territory.



This role will have shared sales targets and individual annual objectives.  A successful candidate will need to work well both in a team environment and independently, take direction from multiple sources, be adaptable to various situations, and have the desire to grow rapidly. The candidate must be mobile and willing to relocate as they transition into a sales territory of their own.



Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…



  • Bachelor’s Degree required OR Associate’s Degree and a minimum of 4+ years of work experience OR High School diploma and a minimum of 6+ years of work experience
  • A Concrete Industry Management Degree preferred.
  • Prior concrete-related experience preferred with a passion for technical knowledge & learning. Construction management, engineering courses/experience a plus
  • Sales experience a plus
  • Mechanical or electrical experience a plus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to work independently and accomplish objectives through others to obtain goals
  • Able to recognize, prepare, and sell value-oriented concepts to others
  • Able to organize, manage and create an individual sales plan
  • Able to understand and use basic financial and market analysis concepts
  • Excellent computer skills and comfortable with Digital tools
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to drive for extended periods of time. Willing and able to travel up to 30% of the time.
