We are looking to hire a Territory Sales Manager - Power & Industrial in the Columbus, Ohio area


 

This is just a high-level overview of the role we need you to fill for us.

 

We are seeking a sales professional who will cover Ohio, Western PA, Indiana, and Southern MI. Your primary responsibilities will be to interact and build relationships at all levels of the Sales channel including Specifiers, EPC’s, OEMs, and Owner/Stakeholders.  Interact with RSMs and KAMs depending on the project nature and scope.  Internally, this position also requires working closely with the Product Marketing Specialists as well as Technical/Training Functions. The successful individual must work extremely closely with all Power & Industrial Specialists across multiple regions. 

 

You will assist in major project development by answering detail and technical questions before and during a project.  The TSM is also responsible for attending regional and local trade shows.  This role requires active involvement with professional Industry organizations, and provides technical training to specifiers, owners, contractors, and OEM’s.

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of the construction process from inception to completion with a robust understanding (theory and practice) of how power & industrial products are sold into the industry. 
  • Foster safety culture and follow all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies associated to the position.
  • Be able to develop and maintain national accounts by working with various major corporations who have multiple locations.  Responsible for account development and management.
  • Provide Sales support by working with the Sales team on major projects.
  • Niche product/project development; working with Marketing and Sales on developing new business in niche markets.
  • Participate in corporate “continuous improvement process” by investigating and recommending new products and technology.
  • Professional development/networking.  Active involvement in professional organizations and working trade shows.

 

Knowledge and Experience

 

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science degree or other related fields or equivalent years of experience
  • Minimum of 3 years in the construction industry
  • Strong track record in Sales/Business Development with experience in the power & industrial vertical market, along with experience in consultative selling
  • Good working knowledge of Windows, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in using online / electronic databases to generate leads is an asset.
