Job Summary:  MBCC Group is looking to hire a high caliber ASEAN Procurement Manager. He or She is responsible and accountable for the procurement of raw materials/packaging/merchandised goods (direct); technical goods/services/contracts (indirect) and logistics service (freight/ transportation/ warehousing/ customs brokerage) at competitive terms and the required level of quality resulting in cost savings and supply risk reduction for the business as well as in charge of export process to ensure export order is fulfilled timely and meet customer’s needs for ASEAN.

Responsibilities

 

  • ASEAN procurement strategy - Explore supply market structure and dynamics, strategies of suppliers, evaluate opportunity and threats
  • Provides input and market knowledge (e.g., supply market structure and dynamics, strategy of suppliers, pricing structures, opportunity and threats) to MBS
  • Develop a plan to manage contract term gap between MBS customers and MBS vendors, with respective MD’s
  • Benchmark prices with competition to gain market intelligence
  • Eliminate/reduce single sourcing situations for key raw materials
  • Reporting – Develop and report monthly Heat map of key RM with forecasting for Asia Pacific. Analyze forecast vs Actuals to improve
  • Lead procurement in ASEAN, drive function performance appraisals and align result with disciplinary leader
  • Create a procurement community in ASEAN. Organize monthly calls and exchange best practices
  • Develop list of savings opportunities working with country buyers, technical, Supply chain and business management teams and implement them
  • Identify strategic raw materials in ASEAN plants that are single sourced and rectify the situation
  • Mentor and train new procurement employees in ASEAN
  • Come up with a plan for P2P implementation. Oversee P2P for Asia Pacific

Experience

Successful candidate will possess the following requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration, supply chain management
  • Min 5 years’ relevant experience in MNCs with international operations, preferably in chemical industry
  • Expertise in procurement methodologies and processes as well as negotiation tactics
  • Adequate knowledge of transportation & warehousing management, EHS, transportation & distribution safety (TDS), Customs brokerage and global trade control
  • Good knowledge of business, finance and supply chain concepts
  • Good communication and presentation in English
  • Competency in computer applications such as MS Office. SAP MM will be a bonus.
