We are looking to hire a Business Development Manager – National Accounts

The purpose of the Business Development Manager – National Accounts is to drive sales, develop specifications, close projects, and build and leverage relationships by working with strategic owners and accounts that have a North American footprint.


This will enable Master Builders to connect and leveraging customer relationships across the US, develop unique strategies to close sales, and position Master Builders early on in projects, greatly increasing our likelihood of successfully closing projects.

  • Responsible for growth strategy development for national accounts
  • Find, develop, and capture National Account business – defined as multiple, repeatable project selling opportunities driven by single specifications.
  • Influence national account specification development and design.  Develop and maintain relationships with key national account contacts so that target MBS systems are specified.
  • Complete and maintain a list of target customers and comprehensive strategy for each.
  • Develop/Maintain CRM database for targeted list
  • Active involvement in professional organizations for networking and development opportunities.
  • Be the single point of contact for cross-regional targets while maintaining relationships at a local level.
  • Develop and implement MBS specifications with targeted accounts
  • Work in conjunction with MBS Specialists in developing and maintaining network of influences
  • Establish relationships with and participate in influential industry organizations
  • Solve design and application issues for customers as they arise (i.e., engineers, contractors)
  • Partner with internal stake holders by providing voice of customer and competitive market information.
  • Be responsible for timely reporting, delivering sales results (top-and bottom-line) and managing the expense budget.
  • Follow all appropriate Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies.




  • Demonstrates a robust understanding of how construction products are sold into the targeted segment through the various channels of sale. Channel of sales include A/E, Specifiers, Owners and Contractors.
  • Superior time management skills and ability to excel in a self-directed work environment.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) presentation and customer interface skills
  • Understanding of the specification process, especially with A/E, owners and contractors, including customer decision process, understanding and knowledge.
  • Proven effectiveness in dealing with a wide range of professionals, staff, and administrators.
  • Ability to balance priorities to accomplish assigned tasks within the required time frame and be able to shift quickly between several tasks without loss of continuity.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of time.
  • Carry out all responsibilities and objectives in professional manner.
  • Adhere to the corporate policies and procedures.
