Job Summary

As part of the Regional Business Segment Management team for Underground Construction (UGC) in ASEAN, this role is responsible for the development and coordination of the offering to all Construction Chemicals businesses (AS, CS and UGC) into new infrastructure projects (“Infrastructure Segment”), including Transportation, Utility, Power and Port/Marine sectors across ASEAN. Act as a regional resource and guide the local implementation of UGC strategies and technology/product launches.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage “single offerings” of MBCC Construction Chemicals to major new infrastructure projects and associated contractors, associations and academia across ASEAN. 
  • Develop a coordinated strategic marketing plan for the AS, CS and UGC product lines related to new infrastructure projects in the Transportation, Utility, Power and Port/Marine sectors across ASEAN. 
  • Continually monitor the Infrastructure Segment; identify growth opportunities, entry barriers and assess related risks. Proactively update the relevant business management (as required).
  • Coordinate, drive and align the multi-sector Infrastructure Segment strategy with regional business and market management; engage all stakeholders in result oriented discussions and target the best outcome for MBCC.
  • Identify, develop, roll-out and promote products and applications critical for continual business growth in the Infrastructure Segment.
  • Drive communications, brand management and brand positioning in the Infrastructure Segment with the support of all relevant parties.
  • Define the competitive landscape (locally as well as regionally) and develop competitive response scenarios accordingly.
  • Accountable for the revenue and profit development in the entire Infrastructure Segment. 
  • Responsible for the overall growth and profitability of UGC sales in the Infrastructure Segment. 
  • Develops the technical competency and selling skills of UGC team members; set-up and roll-out of an integrated training concept for the relevant parties  (commercial as well as technical). 

 

Interacts with Global UGC Management and Development teams for all relevant strategic and technical topics.

Experience

Education:

  • Min. Bachelor's degree in Civil / Mining Engineering, or related field.

Working Experience:

  • More than 10 years in underground and infrastructure construction, in customer-facing roles. 
  • Ability to identify market opportunities, develop and implement strategies. 
  • Experience in leading virtual teams.

Technical & Professional Knowledge:

  • Science or engineering background essential. 
  • Knowledge of product application and interactions in civil projects. 
  • Relevant industry marketing experience.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in construction methodologies utilized for infrastructure projects. 
  • Strong internal and external relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to act as a change manager/agent in a diverse team.
