We are looking to hire a Business Manager, Canada to support the country of Canada. The ideal candidate will live or around Toronto, Ontario, Canada.


This is just a high-level overview of the role we need you to fill for us

Provide strong, effective leadership, management and direction for all Canadian sales personnel which sell assigned brands in a defined geography to the construction industry at volume and profit levels that are consistent with the corporate assigned budgetary responsibilities.


Core Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies that will substantially increase Canadian market share, enhance customer relationships, reduce complexity, introduce new products, penetrate growth markets and increase profitability.         
  • Train, develop and mentor all assigned sales personnel to improve their performance. Monitor their performance to assigned budget responsibilities.           
  • Ensure that all company initiatives, policies and procedures are implemented and communicated effectively.         
  • Actively participates on the Construction Systems North American Sales Management Team. Full proactive engagement with other sales managers, marketing, technical service, supply chain, credit, customer service and all other business functions.      
  • Monitor expenses for the assigned area, which meets budgetary expectations. Meet or exceed Gross Margin objectives.     
  • Establish goals and objectives that tie into the budgetary responsibilities. Regularly review direct reports plans, provide feedback and make appropriate adjustments.     
  • Maintain contact with all of the Key customers within the geography. Administration: provide the area manager with information that pertains to the market conditions within that could affect the performance. Make sure that all reports requested from sales personnel are submitted in a timely manner.         
  • Establish conflict controls between all functions and within the Canadian sales team. Interface and engage consistently and effectively with the Corporate Headquarters regarding issues of Product complaints and service levels. 
  • Provide supply chain and manufacturing with timely and accurate forecasts and information about projected product requirements for large projects.
  • Maintain leadership in industry associations.          
  • Provide market feedback and intelligence and build proactive partnerships with the marketing function.
  • Wear necessary safety equipment and follow company established Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain good attendance record and report to assigned job station in a timely manner.          
  • Follow all appropriate Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies.     
  • Wears prescribed Personal Protective Equipment and ensures that prescribed safeguards are properly used.          
  • Notifies his/her supervisor before undertaking a work activity in which he/she is not adequately trained.     
  • Immediately reports unsafe acts or conditions to his/her supervisor and takes immediate interim steps to protect himself/herself and others from serious risk.    
  • Understands that Safety and Environmental responsibility is a major part of Master Builders Solutions Vision and Guiding Principles. Must report all unsafe conditions and accidents immediately to appropriate manager. Responsible for the safety of themselves and others.         
  • Must understand and follow all quality initiatives and processes for ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004 and other ISO regulations, procedures and processes as they pertain to job responsibilities.     
  • Process safety roles and responsibilities across the organization are clearly- defined and include an expectation to raise, and authority to respond to process safety concerns. Senior leaders are held accountable for process safety performance. Employees understand the importance of process safety as it applies to their jobs and are responsible for following and contributing to the work processes to achieve improvement in company process safety performance. 
  • Assure standards of safety, environmental, team and individual performance are met in a high performance team-based organization.   
  • Address and raise the EHS standards at Master Builders Solutions.


These skills and experiences will make you a good fit for this role

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field is required.
  • 5 or more years of meeting the performance requirements as a sales professional
  • 5 or more years in sales management experience. Construction industry experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Meets or exceeds all assigned budgetary requirements and represents the company in a professional manner.
  • Experience in other areas of business operations (marketing, supply chain, customer service, etc.) is also valuable, but not required.
  • Excellent track record of leadership, teamwork and strength in decision making. Can be accepted by the sales team as a respected leader.
