Colorbiotics produces millions of pounds of environmentally friendly colorant every month. With the largest color palette in the world, our colorant has been used in everything from landscaping products, such as mulch, to the rubber found on playgrounds and in artificial football fields. Our team also manufactures a full line of advanced commercial coloring equipment. And, beyond colorant, we offer specialized coatings and additives to protect and enhance other products enduring the elements.


We are seeking a national sales professional in our Ames, IA office. The primary responsibilities will be to develop and drive effective company sales strategies. Know market trends and behaviors to inform and guide Colorbiotics’ sales efforts. Proactively prospect long-term, profitable relationships and manage sales objectives for all markets in Asphalt. Success in this role is demonstrated by meeting sales targets and maintaining a strong presence in chosen market segments.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Understand and implement the Colorbiotics Selling System, focusing on identifying and satisfying customer needs.
  • Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs, and to explain how these needs are met by specific products and services.
  • Educate customers and prospects about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.
  • Conduct Customer Needs Assessments and provide technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
  • Negotiate prices and terms of sales and service agreements.
  • Maintain customer records, using automated systems and Sales Force.
  • Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.
  • Prepare sales contracts for orders obtained and submit orders for processing.
  • Responsible for collecting AR and managing territory P&L Budget.
  • Understand and implement marketing plan initiatives…driving key asphalt products, services and technologies toward key target markets.
  • Maintain and grow the customer base.  Develop new and profitable accounts utilizing all asphalt products
  • Handle and resolve customer colorant and equipment needs in a timely manner to ensure highest possible customer satisfaction.
  • Provide equipment related operational reviews, minor service and repair, and handle parts inquiries in conjunction with the technical services team
  • Calibrate and compare competitive products and provide recommendations on efficiency.
  • Attend Trade Shows to promote Colorbiotics products.
  • Interact with internal key departments and external customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.




  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business sales.
  • Ability to Travel (60%)
  • Strong track record in Sales/Business Development with experience in Asphalt, along with experience in consultative selling.
  • Strategic Business Planning
  • Key account management experience
  • Good working knowledge of Windows, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to lift and handle materials up to 50 pounds occasionally.
