Job Summary

Works with various raw materials in the manufacture of products.  Responsible for following specific instructions outlining designated quantities to be used and production times required.  Operates various equipment in the manufacture of products; operates forklift to load and/or unload raw materials and finished products.  Also, coordinates manufacturing efforts and conducts quality control initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Bulk material handling.

• Stage raw materials for production process.

• Perform batch manufacturing.

• Pump product into finished good container.

• Comply with all Safety Regulations, including, batch ticket safety equipment specifications or any other safety issues that may arise.

• Maintain a safe work environment at all times.

• Setup and stage containers according to the daily production schedule.

• Continually maintain plant and grounds for cleanliness and organization.

• Perform mixing duties as needed.

• Operation of forklifts.

• Accurately follow instructions and record data on production tickets including batch sampling and other duties associated with batch formulation, such as weighing, addition, and mixing various ingredients.

• Immediately reports unsafe acts or conditions to his/her supervisor and takes immediate interim steps to protect himself/herself and others from serious risk.

• Understands that Safety and Environmental responsibility is a major part of BASF’s Vision and Guiding Principles.  Must report all unsafe conditions and accidents immediately to appropriate manager.  Responsible for the safety of themselves and others.

• Must understand and follow all quality initiatives and processes for ISO 9001and other ISO regulations, procedures and processes as they pertain to job responsibilities.

• Assure standards of safety, environmental, team and individual performance are met in a high performance team-based organization.

Experience

Requires up to six months on the job training to learn manufacturing process/procedures, packaging of finished products according to specifications, storing of raw materials and finished products, prepare routine paperwork required and any special projects or unusual aspects of the job.  One or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is helpful.  Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to understand and follow all written manufacturing work orders and oral instructions, read various measuring devices and perform basic mathematical calculations.
