We are looking to hire a R&D Technician – Beachwood, OH

The primary function of Technician is to provide necessary technical support to the development and maintenance of advanced chemical formulations for new construction, preservation, repair or renovation of structures. The incumbent provides support to advance-level technicians, scientists and managers through the performance of industry-related technical and organizational activities. The position level will be decided based on individual skillset and experience and resides within Construction Systems R&D organization.

R&D Technician (II)

The primary function of Technician is to provide necessary technical support to the development and maintenance of advanced chemical formulations for new construction, preservation, repair or renovation of structures. The incumbent provides support to advance-level technicians, scientists and managers through the performance of industry-related technical and organizational activities. The position level will be decided based on individual skillset and experience and resides within Construction Systems R&D organization.

 

Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related science field is preferred.

Minimum 3 years of experience with materials testing and coatings in a lab environment. Experience related to cementitious products is a plus.

Willing to learn from scientists, senior teammates on lab work and product evaluation.

Works with team members supporting development projects and other tasks as assigned.

Must be able to follow standard test protocols, such as ASTM and other industry standards.

Must be hands on and willing to help maintaining labs, chemicals, and storage areas.

Knows Forklift operation or willing to get certification to operate.

Must be able to lift bags and pails of materials as a part of routine lab work.

Travels to plants in the U.S. for trials and troubleshooting when requested.

Highly safety oriented.

Willing to keep work hours flexible to accommodate lab testing and data collection.
