Role Overview:

The main responsibilities of the Chemical Engineer will be to carry out research work in the field of polymers for construction materials.  Collaborate closely with other scientists within the Product Development Group and Global Research Team.  You will also provide technical support to existing plants, like process optimization and troubleshooting.  Will be expect to work collaboratively with other scientists and technicians. Be able to write clear and concise reports.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new products and processes for use in construction materials, mainly concrete
  • Support existing plants, e.g. optimize process and raw materials and do trouble-shooting
  • Evaluate and approve new monomers and other raw materials used in manufacturing PCE and PAE type polymers
  • Support the pilot tests and trial productions of new products
  • Achieve valuable findings from cement & admixture interaction research
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or  other relevant majors. 
  • Familiar with general polymer production processes2 years working experience in plant support is preferred
  • Having the knowledge or experience on concrete and cement knowledge  is a plus, although it is not mandatory
  • Basic knowledge on chemistry: from inorganic chemistry to polymer chemistry
  • Fundamental knowledge on chemical engineering is required
  • Being familiar with the plant environment and / or R&D  lab envrionment is preferred
  • Hands-on abilities to establish, adjust, maintain various synthesis and analytical equipments
  • Demonstrated experience on project management
  • Demonstrated innovation ability supported by past scientific or technical achievements
  • A highly motivated individual with a strong self-leaning ability and a strong will to solve technical problems
  • Readily identifiable leadership skills is nice to have
  • Being sensitive to detect engineering issues and identify spaces for continuous improvement

 

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong team spirit and a collaborative attitude
  • Good at using modern tools to collect technical data, conducting analysis, and drawing professional conclusions
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to make effective presentations both internally and externally
